Digital-Rev on eBay - A poor experience

Dear Digital-Rev. You screwed me, and this will not be forgotten. Delivery estimates are for arrival, NOT when you get around to putting the order out the door.

1. You estimate shipping to arrive between Wednesday and Friday. You did not post the item until Thursday. We can call your estimates a log of rubbish.
2. Your link for help from eBay to your website 404s.

Who's to Blame for Online Piracy

My friend SarahW posted a link via Plus recently for an arcticle "Self-interest is ruling Australia's piracy debate". To be honest, I'm surprised it's taken this long for anyone from any form of media to reach these conclusions. I'd arrived at the same conclusions two or three years ago.

Engineer's Guide to Dancing

My friend Tim recently asked for what to expect at a year 10 formal. He wants to know what's normal. I figure I would give some advice about dancing from an electronics engineer's perspective.

MATH130 Student's Guide to the Chen and Duong Notes for MATH130 - 2011-10-21

So someone at MQ decided it would be a good idea to release a bunch of the algebra notes for MATH130.

I have added a significant amount of OCD, and done a lot of things under the hood for rearranging the book; particularly in terms of splitting the book into multiple files now.
It will make management much easier, but the chapters are a little munted until I go through and change them all.

Update removed significant amount of munting from the chapters. It's now 109 pages long; and appears nicer in PDF readers by default (2 pages side by side). Also - changed fonts a little bit. It now seems to have a happy in mathmode.

MATH130 Student's Guide to the Chen and Duong Notes for MATH130 - 2011-08-14

Included a new section on surds / irrational numbers.

I've added a section at the start called "Introduction to Fractions", as well as fleshing out polynomials, and the gradient formula.

This should now contain enough stuff to be able to solve Assignment 1 for the 2011 Semester 2 stream of MATH130 (as well as a lot of the other assignments, but some of the earlier stuff was missing).

So the exams and subsequent holidays have been and gone, and I spent way too much time building robots rather than finishing these notes off. For the robotics, I offer no apologies :P For the finishing the notes off; well, it's hurting me too because I'm wishing I had them done right now!

Needless to say, I'm now ranked at something insane like #6 or #7 by Google for the search term "MATH130" (without quotes), and so I've had to pull my thumb out and get them done even more now on the off chance you're a MATH130 student wanting notes.

Nyanduino and NyanduinoDesktopClient

So a couple of days ago, Carl, Griff and I were kicking around some ideas in E6A.256 (the MECH room) at MQ.

Long story short, I decided to come up with a way to fire off an LED based upon a MIDI note using Arduino.
